Dina with her Mother.... taking a break!

Dina Molina Lawson is a native Costa Rican. Her work has been exhibited at many galleries in Costa Rica as well as internationally in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Miami, Venezuela, Colombia, Spain, Nicaragua and Mexico. She, along with her son, Gregory also exhibited in an exhibition with Francisco Amighetti Ruiz, the artist of the century in Costa Rica. She was a founding member of a group of artists called "8 Artists" and exhibited in several galleries in and outside of Costa Rica.

Dina is among the first artists to begin painting on exotic bird feathers in Costa Rica and has done so since the eighties. The feathers come from birds that are not harmed in any way, they are produced in captivity by different foundations and later set free in the wild, a percentage of the sales benefit these projects.

As a former fashion model and opera singer she has been involved all her life with the arts. She lived in the United States for 30 years and studied art in Glendale College in Glendale, CA. with Professor Martin Mondross and privately with Ecuadorean Artist Gustavo Negrete. Several honorable mentions at the art contest at Villas Playas Samara where many famous artists participated in 1993 were added to her awards. She won Second Place at the annual Art Contest "SINTERCAFE".

She currently resides in Costa Rica and has a collection of her art on exhibit at Cafe de Artistas, in San Rafael de Escazu. Painting for over 20 years in the Naif style, her paintings have been acquired by collectors around the world.

Her current choice of mediums is mainly acrylics and oils but still does some water colors. All of her art work shown is representative of her current style and is for sale with the prices shown. When any of the art is sold, we will show it as such.

So, if you are interested in Primitivism art or collect Costa Rican Art, please contact us for more details.
